What is Amazon Household?

Amazon Household is the perfect service for Prime Members who want to share the benefits with their whole household. It also features a few other benefits that are great for the whole family. In this article, I am going to tell you all about Amazon Household, how it works, how to use it and the great benefits you can get using it.

What is Amazon Household?

Amazon Household was created to benefit Prime members who want to share their Prime benefits with the people they love the most, their family! It is a part of Amazon Family that gives you the ability to have a single Amazon entity for your entire family… that you can control.

Amazon Household can contain up to 6 members:

  • Two adults who both have their own Amazon accounts.
  • Up to four children for use on Amazon FreeTime (child profiles cannot shop or buy on Amazon).

In order to share the benefits of Amazon Household, both adults must agree to share wallets which mean you will both have access to each others debit/credit card payment options.

When you sign up for Amazon Household, you can share Prime benefits with one other adult in your house (usually your spouse). You can both then enjoy all the great benefits of Prime like 2-day free shipping. You also get access to a number of other great Amazon services that are great for your family, like Family Library, eBooks, audiobooks, games and apps.

Family Vault

When you sign up for Amazon Household, you will get access to the Family Vault, where you can share and store photos with up to 5 people over 13 years old. Each family member receives their own unlimited photo storage and can also save their photos to the Family Vault.

Family Vault is a part of Amazon Prime Photos with all Prime members have access to. View your photos anywhere and even create custom prints and photos.

Twitch Prime

You also get access to Twitch Prime which is a popular services for the kids. Twitch Prime is Amazons gaming service where you can get great gaming benefits, loot, virtual currency, free games and more. You can also watch other gamers play live so your kids will be entertained for hours.

How to use Amazon Household

To get started using Amazon Household, just head to the Household homepage and you should see an area where you can create your household.

Note that both adults will need to be present when signing up in order to verify their accounts and create an Amazon Household account.

When you are ready to start building your Household, click ‘Add an Adult’.

You will be prompted to login to your account and then you will see a screen where you spouse needs to sign in and conform that they are the second adult in the Household.

Once the second account is verified, you now must agree to share your payment methods. Note that if you don’t agree to share payment methods, you will not be able to create an Amazon Household account.

Now you can click Create a Household and you have enabled Amazon Household for your family. Next, you can start adding your children to the Amazon Household account.

Click ‘Add Child’ and you can start adding up to 4 children to your Amazon Household account.

Enter their first name, gender, birthday and select an icon.

Click save and you have now added a child to your Prime Household account. You can now manage what content and devices they can access via your Amazon Household center.
